On June 9th at 6pm, The Charlotte Rollergirls’ A-team is going to be taking on The New River Valley Rollergirls. At 7:30, their B-team, the B-Dazzlers will be facing off against our very own LCHR Bruisin’ Betties! The Betties took the win in February at their home venue against the B-Dazz, but this time, the stakes are high and the game will be close. The Lowcountry Highrollers All-Stars are back at home and taking on the Carolina Hurticanes, the renowned powerhouse team schemed up by the twisted derby mind of Professor Lou Botomy. The Highrollers have heard the warnings, and have issued a challenge to the Hurticanes to do their worst.
This bout is also the home debut of our spunky, sassy junior derby league, the Holy City Chaos! Our little sisters will face off against Columbia Quad Squad’s Mini Derby team. The last time these teams met, the Chaos defeated the Minis in their own house, and they are ready to give their hometown fans a win.
We’ll have beer and music, plus fun for the kids all day and great raffle prizes. Check out the Charleston Jam Skaters halftime show, and keep the party going after the bout upstairs in our VIP lounge for $5.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the High School Injury Prevention Coalition (HSIPC), an organization that strives to influence and change unsafe driving behavior of high school students especially concerning their attitude about drinking, drug use while driving, speeding, distracted driving and seatbelt use.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $14 at the door, and kids under 10 are free! VIP tickets are also available for $40. Get your tickets online now at Brown Paper Tickets. The winds start to blow on Saturday, May 26th as the Highrollers stand strong and defiant in the face of the storm. Doors open at 4:30PM, with the Chaos taking on the Minis at 5:00PM and the main event at 6:00PM.
